How to make a vision board
2022 is almost here and I am so excited for the new year! I really love how 2021 has treated me but am looking forward to seeing what surprises (and rewards) the new year has in store.
I have been making vision boards for several years and I LOVE IT. I make them for the new year and recently made one for my birthday (watch my YouTube video on it here).
I just find that making these boards provides so much clarity and focus for WHAT I want to achieve and HOW I want my life to look. My boards have a similar feel to them each year but change slightly depending on what new things I’m going after.
For example, my recent boards show a big, beautiful home that I have been wishing (and manifesting) for years. We recently purchased a big, beautiful home and so now those images probably won’t show up as consistently for me (I give a mini home tour here).
If you are new to vision board creating or just looking for a fun end of year project to help you manifest new goals for 2022, here are some of my tips for creating the ultimate vision board.
How to make a vision board:
Find images that inspire and speak to you.
These images can be found through a Google search, Pinterest, or can even be cut out of a magazine. I normally get most of my vision board images from Pinterest. Print your images out in different sizes if you find them online. You want a variety of sizes for your board.
Select images that encapsulate your entire life.
Try to select images for all the different aspects of your life. Travel, relationships, personal life, business, etc.
My most recent board had images of different home designs, lots of travel images of the places I want to go, clothing ideas for how I want to dress, quotes that inspire me, and there’s even a photo of someone eating breakfast in bed because I wanted to start pampering myself more.
The images you choose don’t have to be exactly what you are visioning but instead work more as an overall idea of what you truly want.
Purchase a large poster board.
I normally get mine from the dollar store but have also seen them at most general shopping stores like Wal-Mart and CVS. I try to get one that is pretty sturdy.
Arrange your images.
I layer my images with some overlapping each other and play with them until they fully take up my board. I then use clear tape to secure them all.
Keep your board in a place that you will see it everyday
I keep my boards in my living room near where I work everyday. It’s important to be able to see these daily and be reminded of your goals and what your dream life looks like. This helps push me through hard times and remind myself what I’m working towards.
So far, I have been able to see a lot of my vision boards come true! Like these images below. I had originally put an image of a Cyprus tree lined drive in Tuscany and then later realized I took a picture in the same spot while on my honeymoon! Talk about manifesting.
